Hi, i purchased a cyber power pc last year and would like to overclock it to get a little more speed out of it i have no idea how to go about this though. im not sure of my exact specs but i think this is roughly what i have. E8400 3.00GHz, ASUS P5Q Pro, ATI RADEON HD4850, 150GB Hard drive(40GBs Free), 3GBs of OCZ Gold DDR2 and 2 case fans (i have the fans at the lowest speed settings and it runs at 24-32 degrees)
I dont know how to overclock or if i was to go into the BIOS what to change or how. thanks.

Hi there,

Overclocking that CPU is relatively easy. You should be able to add a little speed with the stock CPU cooler or, if you change to a better cooler get a load more out of it. I have my E8400 running at 3.8GHz with a Freezer Pro - it would run at 4GHz quite easily, but I decided to stick to 3.8 for general use.

You need to read up a little on the process though - I used http://www.buildyourown.org.uk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18943 - this as a good starting point, plus google, then started tweaking.

Feel free to ask for specific advice here though.

Best thing to remember is patience - you need to go slow and check everything is stable properly between each jump before moving higher.

Dave
