Hi there,
So I'm looking to buy a decent PC, mainly to use for video editing/gaming. Although running multiple programs/video editing is much more important to me then gaming. How effective would this setup be? (below) My budget is about £1100 but I would certainly increase that if there is some components that would be worth getting. OK since you have a quad channel board and CPU you should get 4 RAM modules rather than two to exploit the extra memory bandwidth. So 4x2GB is more appropriate. Otherwise the build is fine and just needs rounding off with an overclock. The GTX570 may be last years tech but it's hard to beat in it's price bracket. The only other point to consider is perhaps an SSD for the OS drive. The 2TB drives we have at the moment are very fast Seagate Baracuda's, faster than most other HDDs but still don't have the access times anywhere near an SSD. The 240GB OCZ SSD is the best choice at the moment.
