I've been looking forward to this since the Fall of Max Payne. Hopefully Rockstar will preserve the essence, humour and darkness of the original two games and add the kind of gritty story telling and controversy courting carnage they've become known for. Its on my pre-order list, love gritty games like this. Might keep me from being glued to BF3... or maybe not...

Well three days until it unlocks and a week or so before the next double XP weekend (when you have to play BF3 and nothing else) so give it a blast in the mean time.

Good thinking, i forgot about the XP weekend! Yeah ill be there, even have it set as a reminder on my phone :) first time ive been around to make one of the platoons events! ill also probs be around before that as ive got nothing planned for tonight if anyones around before hand.

Pretty promising review over on Bit-Tech - was afraid they were going to mess with the formula too much but sounds fine. Will definitely get around to playing this at some point, although given my current list of unplayed games it might have to wait a bit

Started playing it Yesterday, Awesome but finding that 'Hard' means hard. Also does anyone know the rules of the Max Payne 3 drinking game, matching shot for shot would have me on the floor before the end of the opening sequence! There must be a better way.
Could be up for some Multiplayer, look me up on Steam: Initialised or Rockstar's thingy (grrr another damn platform I have to connect to just to play a game), Avatar is a Joker Heavy hybrid. |

I heard the ghame doesn't have the noir flashback black and white scenes in it anymore? I mean, I only played the first one many many many years ago. But I remember the gameplay well, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The noir aspect is just a much a part of the game for me as bullet time and the likes.
Also, is there much story to this game? The first was about vengeance for his family, and i'm pretty sure he got that.. |

Yeah, it lacks the comic strips (sadly) but retains some elements and the kill cam (pioneered by the original Max Payne and taken to extremes by Sniper Elite V2) works really well. Story is well integrated but I doubt it has the genius of Baseball Bat Boy's explosive dilemma.

Ah right. :) Sounds okay, but I dont think it's something i'd pay full price for, sure there'll be a sale somewhere on it soon, specially since it probably got trounced by Diablo, on PC at least. :)

It does no flash backs but it's all in engine cut-scenes. Multi cell video, a bit like Heavy Rain and the Oceans saga.
