I am looking to spend around £2000 on a PC. A bit more isn't an issue.

I have saved a quote in the site and the configuration number is: # 420575

Is this a good system for the price? Anything not worth me getting so I can save some money? And anything that I should really have selected?

Also, Myself, brother and father are looking to purchase a system identical each together. If we were purchasing three systems, are any discounts available?

To save a bit of cash take the i5 2550K CPU, you wont lose performance in games, just things like professional rendering and video work.

Your case has good sound levels so maybe spend on a soundcard rather than sound proofing options.

For multiple system discounts you will need to speak to sales.

When I change from the i7 2700K to the i5 2550K the FPS counter goes down? You sure I won't be losing performance in games?

Also, would you suggest 16GB of RAM at 1600Mhz or the 8GB at 1800Mhz for gaming? I was thinking the 8GB 1800Mhz because you wont be needing more than 8GB will you?! The faster the 8GB the better?

Also, what sound card would you suggest if money were no object from the ones you sell? I have had a Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium and it was good. Would you go for that as well or the Asus brands?

Yes, with an OC the performance levels out except where HT makes a difference. See the fps counter as guide not gospel.

On RAM, more is better than faster so 16GB @1600MHz is a better long term option than 8GB @ 1800MHz.

Money no object, Xonar STX, on balance the DX or X-Fi Pro.

Ok, So I have a new configuration at with the number # 420849.

Would you say this is the best PC you can buy for around £2000?

I changed the processor to the i5 and I changed the RAM to 16GB 1600Mhz and added a Xonar DX instead of the sound reducing kit.

If you were making a PC for £2k would you make it this way? And is it actually worth getting the new Ivy Bridge i5 instead now?

The Cobra

Not much of an edge over Sandybridge

Only really worth it for it's iGPU and newness, since the iGPU on AMDs 3870 is still ahead by a good margin:
