It's a business model where the main game is largely free but you pay for upgrades and extras. It seems to be the way most MMOs and the more casual FPS games are going.

F2P = Free to Play, no start up cost, usually funded by advertising or in game purchases. Very popular on Smartphone games and spreading to mainstream PC gaming, might take a bit longer to catch on in consoles as they are the most resistant to changes in the market.
All the rage = Popular, common, the new craze Colloquialisms don't always translate well. Are based in Lithuania? |

Yeah its really hard to understand some of the expressions :) Some of colloquialisms are about the same but some of them are totally different. But again means the same thing :}

Been playing Aion for around 2.5 years now ( on my Cyberpower Rigggggg )
Addicted. 3 accounts. 8 x LVL55 Chars on all 3 accounts. Main I play is Fusionist - Elyos Sorcerer on Perento. Stop by and say hi, or if your Asmo on Perento - come and PvP me so I can Glacial Shard your face :P Edited by coxyuk - 02/May/2012 at 13:26 |

I kept my Aion account going off and on during its paid for years, and NCSoft have been very generous in giving former subscribers full access to their characters and equipment under F2P.
It's still one of the best looking MMOs out there, but it can be a tad unforgiving and grindy at times, which is why I only dipped in occasionally. I must admit I feel uncomfortable with the diaphanous gowns my Spiritmaster wears: it feels wrong killing stuff in a party frock somehow! |
