CyberPowerPC - Unleash The Power

While technically speaking not a 'Clan' topic, I'm wondering whether or not anyone is involved in setting up a WAR guild or is interested in doing so? While I love the initial experience of immersion in an MMO, I want a little more structure this time. These forums seem to be full of pretty normal, stable gamers etc and I'd be interested to hear whether any of you know of any decent guilds being set up.

Installed BETA yesterday and then can't register account as the servers are too busy! and a corrupt install but the complete file check should correct that and hopefully back online tonight!

On the other hand, dinged 40 with my Priest in WoW last night so not all bad

Thinking of kids sitting at home playing MMOs reminds me of that Southpark episode

Finally after much button mashing and mouse clicking I'm nearly into WAR. I can just see the fun and games that'll follow when I have to migrate all my data, logins etc from my current PC to my new CP one next week...I really should have timed this better

Played using my Early Access key last night and have to say the game looks awesome. Not as pretty as Lotro but nice enough.  Went destruction as a Chaos Maurader .. server Karak-????? which is no help as most of them start with Karak .. however it seems as this early stage The evil races are the most popular and some servers are getting over subscribed. Have heard that they are increasing population on a gradual basis though to counter this.

Sorry for the above post - nothing like a frustrated gamer! Good to hear WAR is playing well, though disappointing to hear that the graphics aren't that great - I hear they've really compromised and gone for something a little like WOW with a faux gothic feel. While that annoys the Warhammer fan in me, as long as the gameplay is good I don't really care! I think I'll play Order if they're underpowered/outnumbered. 

I heard similar rumours myself Mike. Bit silly of them to rush it IMO - I think people who were going to leave WOW would do so regardless of WotLK - rushing it wasn't going to achieve anything other than annoying customers. Though strangely enough, the US WAR players are delighted while Europe is seething.

On WotLK, I can't see WOW retaining its playability in the long term in its current form - graphics look very tired now and the whole setting & gameplay experience is a little stale if you've been playing since launch. I'll just have to wait a little longer to get WAR up and running!

P.S. About my post 3 above this one, the ray of sunshine in my Luddite week is that the Cyberpower service was as ever excellent on the GC issue - immediately got the ball rolling to sort it out. I realised on re-reading it that I looked like I was whining

Yeah I did that - switched from rogue to mage but eventually, after three lvl 60's (one to lvl 70) and lord knows how many quests that read (artistic license applied for but held up for some reason);

"Find 5 uber-rare Breath of Dragon from the ferocious zerg-prone level 72 elite blue dragons [drop rate 0.02%, 0.001 unless holding the Sceptre of Dragon Control, drops off God - GL] and return them to the flying fortress, which only appears at 4:00am server time Monday morning, which you have to access by launching yourself off the Catapult of Doom, which requires 40 Potent Ogre Brew to power it [drop rate 4.0% from level 70 mobs].

P.S. It is rumoured that the fortress itself is in fact a blue dragon matriarch lvl80 elite Boss which you will have to fight with toothpicks while flying through the air [note: in WOW 'rumoured that' means 'After an Instawipe you will know that']"

Nah - I quit WOW cos I had too much work. It's also helped burn the MMO addiction, which is why I'm not slavering like a lunatic because I can't immediately log onto WAR now You should see the 'Crazy Beta Boy' video on Youtube of some kid acting the mongo cos he's been unable to verify his beta codes...it's fake but still funny because it offers a rare insight into the sad world of the compulsive MMO player. Very young and very unstable. I'm so happy I can say that here and not get flamed by "I kill you! Yr Mum %&*@#¬%" etc etc
