Jetwashing air-con units is -not- a fun job I tell thee. But some of the flooding I saw on the BBC News site was insane! |

luckily for me i live in stanley (town on top of a hill) so my house was ok from the floods but so many that live on the base of the hill have been flooded. my friends house was under a foot of water, shes devastated.

I heard Consett, Lanchester and the rest of the Derwent Valley got hit hard too. I had some water get in the kitchen at home and we had to move the server at CPHQ as the floor under it got wet. Was like a disaster movie as the sky went dark, net, phones then power went down!
Fortunately our disaster recovery procedures didn't have to kick in as it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The roof didn't even leak! Boots and Comet on the other side of the Valley had significant water damage with large parts shut off so it could have been much worse. Edited by Cyber_Tech - 01/Jul/2012 at 11:39 |

Back to the subject of storms, just played football right in the middle of it about 20 mins ago. Thunder streaks going off everywhere it was amazing. Rain go so hard you couldnt see where you were going at points!
