Yeah think I will put my raiding on hold when I get my account back as WoTLK could be here soon, so level my lock to 70 and my priest to 70 first. Then if I still got time, farm like there is no tomorrow.

Not usually unless it's MC or some specific encounters, Fire > Ice for DPS.

So how are people progressing with leveling on burning blade? (I'm lvl 17 at mo). Do we have enough people to get a guild up and running? think I should have enough gold to pay for the registration if needed.

Personally I tired of raiding when we got to AQ, my guild was allways PvP untill we were forced into raiding to compete gear wise, and then i gave up when battle groups were introduced due to the massive increase in wait times between matches.

Skullcrusher used to have a pretty much 50/50 horde/ally split and ques times were 1-2mins max. I still long for the old days of hunting horde in the wilds and camping the bulwark :)

I think I've got the gold can't get on till tomorrow though. Level 18 now for Shandaril.

AQ40 was great I though, Naxx and Kara was as far as we got on Ragnaros.

If we do get some peeps together tomorrow then we can start getting through some early instances. Be good doing it from a healers' POV rather than DPS for a change.

Never did any pre-tbc raiding, stopped playing the game after level 44 on my Rogue then only came back as TBC was released.

I love playing my Rogue, but abit boring in raids, plus we are useless for some fights, such as Leothrass the Blind in SSC. He spends so much time whirlwinding where the raid all has to stand against a wall that we don't get to fight him much. Like we run to him, 10 seconds DPS, run away for 30 seconds, run in for 10. While all the ranged pewpew him.

Really want to try raiding from a Hunters perspective, and as a healer. I have tanked Karazhan and Gruul, DPSd Kara, Gruul, some SSC and some TK. But never even healed for 1 instance.

Same here, never healed hence I picked a Priest for new char (Albeit Shadow, but that's for leveling really).

Yeah I got a 14 priest I will be leveling as soon as my lock is 70. I just want a healer, although the priest will be boring as hell to level because shadow priests are just warlocks without pets lol.

I liked the role of a mage in instances tbh. I wait for the sheep symbol to appear and the skull so that I organize my position and then wait for the pull to sheep. After that I fall back and start the chain of bolts until the mobs die or try to save things with cc when things go bad.

Now our guild has a guild conference using vent and we all have Omen threat meter to be safer from wipeouts. The march has begun LOL

Wait untill your in SSC and your forced to do one of the big rolls like sheep the incoming monsters on the inner ring for Lurker Below fight. If you don't sheep at the exact second, it runs up and 12k hits anyone but a tank and wipes raid, one second too early and it evades, one second too late and your raid loses a member or two as it cleaves. :P No pressure or anything like XD

Mate this isn't like in instances. In instances they say, there is a monster, mark it and say sheep that and you sheep. In this your fighting a boss that if it hits you will 1 hit kill you, every 30 seconds does a twirl of water if it hits you you die in 1 hit, and whirls every 15 seconds which will knock you into water that does 6k hit damage and then 300 damage a second in the water. And then the boss submergers, adds appear on the three islands, two archers on islands and 3 hard hitters in the middle, you have to leave one for another mage, leave the other for a warrior to pick up and select the monster sheep it and keep it sheeped. (May I add this sounds easy, but the monsters can only be targeted once they are on the island and started moving, so if you don't get it the like nano-second right, someone in the raid dies, more than likely two of them)

Alot different to instances mate.

Yeah I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's nothing like instances. But I doubt you will get up to SSC raiding , expansion will be out before your guild makes it up there I think.

That's very possible but at least I'll try my best to play well and contribute as much as I can so that when WoTLK comes out we'll have a shot at good raids, if we don't make it before then.

Yeah although nothing you do in this expansion will contribute to raiding at 80, will be ghey at 80 for first few months. Everyone will be full 80 instance blues trying to down the imba hard epic dropping raid bosses like Karazhan when TBC came out at first.

But all the epics you get now, you will replace with green items at like level 71 like what happened with all the epics people got before TBC came out.

Yeah I realized that by comparing old epics with TBC greens and I was honestly shocked Confused

I am trying to decide between mooncloth, spellfire and shadoweave training but I'll probably go for spellfire for a fire dps spec made for raiding. I am even considering the extreme version with Icy veins instead of Arcance concentration. If I ever play PvP like that it will be with a group and I'll mainly be support dps LOL

Yeah spellfire is the best for you, mooncloth is healers gear and shadowweave is frost mage and shadow damage so warlock also. So spellfire is the best for you.

My advice is to go frost spec when you get the patterns learned to make the spellfire/strike stuff. So you can easily farm the primal Fires, as it's difficult as fire mage. Then go fire when you got them all.

I am Frost/Arcane atm with arcane concentration and things are working fine. I went to The Blood Furnace last night with two 70 hunters, one 70 warrior, one 67 druid and myself as a 64 mage. I came 3rd in DPS just behind the two level 70 hunters which I didn't expect since I am 6 levels below them. I used Icy veins right, the Water elemental every 1.5 mins and 2 trinkets I had for 120 more damage for 20 seconds on the way by rotating with the cooldowns Big%20smile

Also the guild doesn't care if I go frost or fire as long as I choose what I prefer and can play better with.

I'm interested to see the difference later on (60-70) with my lock Vs Shadow Priest. Wonder which is better PvE/PvP? Be nice to have the comparison from a players view.

I expect the Destro lock to do more dps than Shadow Priest with the same quality of gear but you never know.

I wouldn't know like... consistently very high on DPS in raids and PvP... it's all of the instant cast DoTs that bring up your damage. With destruction yes there's great Burst damage but in large scale PvP, Affliction rules ....

From experience in our guild, warlocks do loads more damage. S priests we use more for support, shackles, mana ticks etc. But they don't do anywhere near as much as our demonology spec warlock class leader, even without his pet on Lurker fight. And our Destructo locks blow the S priests out of the water.

Got the key to Shadow Labyrinth last night with a group including myself (lvl 64 mage), a lvl 70 warrior, a lvl 67 druid, a level 70 druid and a level 68 hunter. Most mobs were immune or resisted some sort of magic so I had to come up with variations to be efficient. Ended up 2nd in the total damage which is not bad considering my level but I feel that I can improve even more.

lol XD.

Yeah Shadow Labs is a hard level 70 instance when your just starting out at 70. The 2nd boss is a pain in the ass, anyone who is 70 will tell you the same. Full green group fighting him is funny, always ends in deaths.

Basically every 30 seconds he takes control of everyone in the party and makes you pop all cooldowns and fight each other, so got to keep topped up hp at all times. The time I remember was when our resto druid was ganked by everyone in the group and killed, so when we went out of mind control we had no healer and wiped.

Oh yeah it was, totally hillarious. But after the like 4 groups I got into where the healers weren't mana efficient enough to heal through that boss (was near start of TBC) it wasn't.

But it's easy with players who got semi-decent blues and know how to play the game lol.

I don't do instances anymore in PuG's I hate them. I only do guild/friend runs, and mostly for shards and reputation. But then again it is funny some times, just not the " swe?" then the entire group starts talking in Swedish and you don't know what is going on.

Happens 9/10 groups you get in on my server, that's why I am glad my guild has a English only in guild chat and ventrilo.

Yeah my last guild had no structure at all. They were raiding at SSC level and TK. And were willing to gear me up fast, but the leader was an obnoxious idiot who only let people raid who sucked up to him. Like they would talk about how they wanted to go meet him etc and everytime he said something everyone would laugh, bah.

I left that for my new guild, all raids planned a week ahead, fill 25 man raids daily easily, everyone is mature. Only 4 English people including me, but my brother is joining soon as Off Tank.
